The good news of the Gospel is really very simple:

“Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person– though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.” -Romans 5:7-8

“…remember that you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us.” -Ephesians 2:12-14

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” -2 Corinthians 5:18-20

In case that is a bit confusing, let us summarize:

1. All of us are sinners;
2. Despite our sin, God loves us;
3. In fact, God loved us enough to send His Son Jesus to show us God’s love;
4. Although we killed him because we refused to listen;
5. God raised Christ on the third day;
6. The resurrection is God’s promise, a foretaste of what God intends;
7. What God intends is to reconcile the world to God’s self;
8. We, although we are nothing more than sinners, have been given the task of working for God’s reconciliation in the world;
9. Therefore we are God’s ambassadors, Christ’s body;
10. Since there is nothing special about us, we seek reconcile with everyone we can by bearing witness to Christ’s love.

We believe that there is no magic prayer, no special ritual that gains us God’s favor and separates us from everyone else who does not believe. Instead, like everyone else, we are fallen human beings. The only difference is God’s Grace has shown us a new way, a new path of existence. God has called us to love others as a reflection of God’s love, and thus bear witness to all that God’s Grace knows no boundaries. If this excites you, we only open the door for you to enjoy the celebration of our worship of the God that loves us despite ourselves.
